Hi, my name is Casey Sax and I live in Houston, Texas where I was born on May 4, 1994. I am looking forward to my senior year at Memorial High School and graduating in the class of 2012. I am a member of the MMOB "Memorial Mustang Outreach Bunch" and "KSA", Senior girl's service club. I am proud to be a 4-year letterman and Team Captain for Memorial HS Varsity Softball.
I have played softball since I was six years old. I have pitched and played shortstop, first base and outfield for various select teams prior to high school. I was starting shortstop on Memorial's Varsity softball team as a freshman and received the 18-5A DISTRICT NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR award. As a sophomore, I batted third in Memorial's line up and lead the team in RBI's. I received the 18-5A ALL DISTRICT AWARD INFIELD SECOND TEAM.
Last year, my Junior year, Memorial High School athletics moved to District 19-5A which is made up of the seven Katy High Schools and Memorial. We knew it would be a tough year adjusting to a new district and a new coach; and it was. With the fine coaching of Stephanie Mosley my team will be ready this season for my senior year.
My freshman year, our beloved coach, Tina Young was diagnosed with Stage IV Cancer. She had some tough decisions to make, but the toughest was to retire from coaching softball. Her fight against her illness has been an inspiration to all of us that know and played for her at Memorial High School. My effort on the field and in the classroom everyday is dedicated to her courage and strength. 4CY
In the fall of 2009, I joined the Texas Peppers Tanel 360 Gold as a Shortstop. I enjoyed my first year of "Gold" ball and the advanced game. The most enjoyable part was qualifying for Gold Nationals and playing in the Gold Nationals in Georgia and placing 13th.
In August, 2010 I joined Sugar Land Stealth Gold. In the summer of 2011, we played in ASA Gold Qualifiers on the road to ASA Gold Nationals. We had a great summer, however we did not reach our goal of qualifying for Gold Nationals. We are currently ranked 8th in Texas ASA, and we hope to have a great year.
